How to start a Real-Time Execution Trace Toolkit session?

How to start a Real-Time  Execution Trace Toolkit session?  I looked at some examples but they already had a log file.  How do you establish the session/log file?  When I selected ?Real-Time Execution Trace toolkit ..? from the tools menu, it said ?waiting for session?.  What to do next?  I have TraceTool Start.vi and TraceTool Stop Trace And Send.vi  in my Real-Time VI.

What you described is all you have to do. Start Trace and Stop Trace and Send on the RT, run toolkit on host PC. A few things to check:Does your real-time code ever reach the 'TraceTool Stop Trace and Send.vi'?Did you specify the correct IP address to send the trace to?Probably a software firewall is blocking traffic between RT and host computer?
